Removal
1. Remove the air intake grille of the interior ventilation system (see "Air intake grille of the ventilation system - removal and installation").
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the additional heater resistor.
3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screw that secures the resistor to the heater body (indicated by the arrow).
4. Remove the resistor from the heater housing.
Note. The resistance of each resistor coil is less than 1 Ohm, so they can only be checked with a special ohmmeter or by replacing them with a known good one. A faulty resistor can be identified by the presence of a burnt surface of the coils. Multimeter (in ohmmeter mode) it is possible to determine a break in the resistor coils.
Installation
We install the additional resistor and the heater itself in the reverse order.
