General information about cars (VAZ-2115)

The VAZ-2115 sedan with a four-door body and the VAZ-2114 hatchback with a five-door body and the VAZ-2113 with a three-door body are based on the VAZ-2199, VAZ-2109, VAZ-2108 cars, respectively, so many of their units and assemblies are unified. After the final cessation of production of the "eighth" family models in Tolyatti in 2004, the modernized cars received the common name LADA SAMARA-2.

LADA SAMARA-2 family cars are equipped with a VAZ-2111 petrol engine with a working volume of 1.5 liters, located transversely in the engine compartment. The engine is equipped with distributed fuel injection with or without feedback (depending on the configuration) and electronic control system (ECU), ensuring compliance with EURO II standards. Depending on the configuration, a VAZ-2115 car can be equipped with a gasoline carburetor engine mod. VAZ-21083 with a working volume of 1.5 liters and a contactless ignition system. A five-speed gearbox and front-wheel drive simplify the transmission and increase efficiency, improve the controllability and stability of the car at high speeds and on slippery roads. However, in a car with a loaded roof rack or trailer, the distribution of masses along the axles changes and, accordingly, controllability worsens when driving. In such cases, you must be extremely careful and not make sudden maneuvers on the road when overtaking and turning.

The front part of the body of the LADA SAMARA-2 family of cars differs from its predecessor with new original front headlights, a modified shape of the hood and front fenders. The front and rear bumpers are painted in the body color, moldings and threshold fairings are installed on the sides of the body, which protect the body elements from corrosion and damage. The modified shape of the trunk lid and the rear panel of the body on the VAZ-2115 car allows to reduce the loading height of the luggage compartment. The anatomical front seats are equipped with headrests and a longitudinal movement mechanism, providing a comfortable fit for passengers in the back seat. On cars with a hatchback body, the rear row of seats can be folded, and then the capacity of the luggage compartment will increase from 330 to 940 liters, which will allow you to transport large-sized luggage.



Spoilers installed on the outer panel of the tailgate of VAZ-2114 and VAZ-2113 cars and on the trunk lid of VAZ-2115 cars improved the appearance and aerodynamics of the bodies. Adjustable steering column, upper anchor points for the front seat belts and instrument cluster borrowed from VAZ cars of the "tenth" family. The LADA SAMARA-2 family cars are equipped with an energy-absorbing instrument panel, called the Europanel. An additional brake light built into the spoiler increases traffic safety. The central door locking system has simplified the use of the locking mechanisms. The design of the rear door locks includes a mechanism that eliminates the possibility of opening the doors from the inside (a "child" lock), which increases the safety of transporting children in the back seat. Depending on the configuration, cars can be equipped with immobilizer, trip computer, electric windows, electric heated front seats and electric drive of external rear view mirrors.





The VAZ-2114 and VAZ-2113 cars differ only in the number of doors and the design of the front passenger seat with a forward-folding backrest, which makes it easier to get into the back seat.
