1.10. Instrument cluster

The arrangement of instruments and control lamps in the instrument cluster is shown in Fig. 1.10.

The following instruments and indicators are installed in the instrument cluster:

1 — coolant temperature gauge in the engine cooling system. The scale of the gauge has divisions corresponding to temperatures of 50, 90 and 130°C. The red zone warns of engine overheating. If the arrow has moved into the red zone, stop, let the engine cool down and eliminate the cause of overheating;

Tachometer

2 — an electronic tachometer shows the engine crankshaft speed. The scale has divisions from 0 to 80, the division value is 5. To find out the crankshaft speed, you need to multiply the tachometer readings by 100. The shaded red zone of the scale means the engine operating mode with a high speed, the solid red zone — dangerous modes for the engine;

3 — left turn signal indicator light (with a green arrow-shaped filter) flashes when the left turn signal is turned on synchronously with it. Flashing of the control lamp with double frequency indicates that the lamp in one of the turn signals has burned out;

4 — right turn signal indicator light (see 3);

speedometer

5 - an induction speedometer shows the current speed of the vehicle.

The scale contains divisions from 0 to 200 km/h, the division value is 10 km/h. The speedometer drive is electric from a sensor installed on the gearbox housing;

Fuel level indicator

6 — electromagnetic fuel gauge operates only when the ignition is on. When the ignition is off, the arrow is located at the beginning of the scale. The scale has divisions: 0 — empty tank, 1/2 — half tank, 1 — full tank;

7 — minimum fuel reserve indicator light in the tank (with orange filter) constantly on when the fuel level in the tank is 4-6.5 l;

8 — side light indicator lamp (with green filter) indicates that the side lights in the headlights and taillights are on;

9 — brake system emergency status indicator lamp (with red filter) lights up when the brake fluid level drops below the "min" mark on the brake master cylinder reservoir;

10 — high beam indicator lamp (with blue filter) indicates that the high beam headlights are on;

Trip meter reset button

11 — button for resetting the daily mileage counter, switching the time and ambient temperature indication, setting the time;

12 — electronic mileage indicator. The top line of the indicator shows the total mileage of the car, the bottom line — the daily mileage. The daily mileage counter is reset by holding button 11 down for more than 5 seconds when the car is stationary;

13 — control lamp engine management systems (with orange filter) "CHECK ENGINE" ("Check engine"). If the control system is working properly, it lights up after the ignition is turned on and goes out immediately after the engine starts;

Warning! Lighting of the lamp in various modes while the vehicle is moving indicates failure of some elements of the engine management system.

14 — hazard warning light indicator (with red light filter). Flashes when the hazard warning lights are on;

15 — time and temperature indicator. Time and temperature indication is switched by briefly pressing the button. After turning on the ignition, at an ambient temperature above +2°C, the time indication always appears. When the ambient temperature drops below +2°C, the indicator shows the time for 3 s and then switches to the temperature indication mode (first 10 sec in flashing mode). When the outside air temperature rises above +3°C and then falls again to +2°C:

in case of time indication, there is an automatic switch to temperature indication in flashing mode for the first 10 s;
in case of temperature indication, the continuous mode is interrupted by a 10-second flashing mode.

Set the hours and minutes in the time display mode by rotating button 11 in the direction of the signs "h" (hours) and "min" (minutes);

Note: After disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it, the time countdown starts from zero.

16 — Low battery indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on. The lamp should go out immediately after the engine starts. If the lamp is on or dimly lit when the engine is running, this indicates that there is no charging current, caused by generator malfunction or voltage regulator, as well as weak tension (or a break) alternator drive belt;

17 — Parking brake indicator light (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is on if the car is braked with the parking brake;

18 — Oil pressure emergency drop indicator lamp (with red filter) lights up when the ignition is turned on and warns that the pressure in the engine lubrication system is below normal;
