If the fuel pump screen is often clogged, remove and flush the tank.
If a leak is found along the junction of the upper and lower parts of the tank, these places can be soldered (it is recommended to carry out in specialized workshops). To do this, pour out the remaining gasoline, thoroughly rinse and dry the tank. Then solder the leak with soft solder.
Warnings! You can only solder a thoroughly washed and dried tank that does not contain gasoline vapors, otherwise they may ignite when soldering.
Use detergent to flush the fuel tank «Lobomid», MS or ML. Then, to remove detergent residue, rinse and steam the tank with hot water. Dry the tank thoroughly.
You will need: screwdriver, socket head «at 13», knob, key «at 17».
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «–» battery.
2. Reduce the pressure in the supply system (see «Reducing the pressure in the power system»).
3. Put the car on a lift.
4. Remove the back seat (see «Removal and installation of a back seat»).
5. Turn out two screws of fastening of a cover of the hatch.
6. Bend the latches and disconnect the block of the wiring harness of the electric fuel pump and the fuel level sensor.
7. Turn away a nut of a tube of giving of fuel and take away a tube aside.
8. Turn away the union of a tube of drain of fuel and disconnect a fuel line.
Note.
Replace cracked, loose o-rings.
9. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the filler pipe hose.
10. Loosen clamp..
11.... and disconnect the fuel tank air outlet hose from the fitting.
12. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the separator hose.
13. Holding the fuel tank, unscrew the two bolts securing the pressure bands..
14.... and remove the tank.
15. Install the fuel tank in the reverse order of removal. Start the engine and check the fuel lines for leaks.
