Replacing the throttle cable (VAZ-2115)

If the throttle actuator cannot be adjusted to fully open or close the throttle valve, or if the actuator sticks, replace the throttle actuator cable.

You will need: a screwdriver, a 17 mm wrench.

1. Remove the safety clip from the throttle actuator sector.



2. Turn the throttle actuator sector, remove the cable end from the sector groove and disconnect the cable from the throttle assembly.



3. Loosen the adjusting nut…



4. …slide the protective cap along the cable, unscrew the lock nut from the end of the cable sheath…





5. …and remove the cable from the slot in the bracket.

6. In the car interior, slide the cable end off the lever pin by prying it with a screwdriver and remove the end from the pin.



7. Pull the cable towards the engine compartment from the hole in the front shield.




8. Install the new throttle cable in the reverse order of removal. After installing the cable, adjust the actuator (see "Adjusting the throttle actuator" in the subsection "Power supply system").
