Note. The work on replacing the throttle cable is shown on the VAZ 21124 (1.6i) injection engine. The specifics of removing and replacing the cable on the VAZ 2112 (1.5i) engine are specified in the text.
Recommendation: The throttle cable is replaced if it is stuck in the housing or damaged.
Warning: Work should only be performed after the engine has cooled to a safe temperature (not higher than 45°C).
Removal
1. Preparing the vehicle for work (see point 2a "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the air supply hose to the throttle valve.
Note: The air supply hose to the throttle body will get in the way, especially when installing the new cable.
3. Using a slotted screwdriver, pry up the locking spring and remove it from the sector.

4. Turn the sector counterclockwise until it stops and remove the throttle cable tip from the sector slot.

5. On the injection engine VAZ 21124 (l,6i): remove the locking plate of the throttle cable sheath and pull the cable sheath out of the rubber holder. Remove the throttle cable together with the rubber holder from the cable sheath mounting bracket (the bracket is made integral with the intake module).

On the injection engine VAZ 2112 (l,5i): remove the plastic end of the cable (3) and unscrew the nut (2). Remove the throttle cable from the bracket.
6. Pull the cable with the sheath through the plastic clamp or cut the clamp with nippers (a new clamp will be required during installation).

7. Using a screwdriver, pry the end of the cable from the gas pedal lever under the instrument panel.

8. Pull the end of the cable out of the passenger compartment through the hole in the engine compartment bulkhead and remove the cable together with the rubber holder.

Installation
We install the throttle cable and all removed parts on the car in the reverse order.
After installing the cable, we adjust the throttle drive and install the air supply hose.
