Warning: Never work on a vehicle supported solely by a jack. Always support the vehicle securely. On soft ground, place additional support, such as a sturdy board, under the bottom of the jack.
Recommendation: Replace the standard jack with a screw or hydraulic jack.
Install the jack in places where there is a stamping on the body.
Switch to first gear and place the recoil stops (bars) under the front wheels if you are lifting the rear of the vehicle. When lifting the front end, apply the parking brake and place the stops under the rear wheels.
Place the lower support platform of the jack on a horizontal section of the road.
By turning the jack handle, lift the top platform of the jack so that its groove engages with the flange connecting the threshold and the floor.
The lower support platform of the jack must be located exactly under the upper platform. If installed incorrectly, the jack may "fold" because it has insufficient lateral rigidity. Raise the car with a jack.
Install the support stand. The flange of the sill and floor connection should fit into the groove of the upper platform of the support stand. Lower the jack so that the car is lowered onto the stand.
