1. Open the back door. Bend the wire harness holder on the right side of the vehicle body.
2. Disconnect the wire lugs from the contacts of the rear door glass heating element.
3. Mark the wires and the connecting block of the wiper motor reducer.
4. Disconnect the wire lugs from the connector block. Remove the wiring harness from the door frame.
5. Remove the rear door seal (at the door hinges), while holding the back door.
6. Remove the two headlining brackets to provide access to the tailgate hinge nuts.
7. Outline the rear door hinges if the door is not being removed for replacement.
8. Remove the rear door glass washer tube from the connector.
9. Unscrew the two ball pins of the rear door gas-filled stops from the door brackets while holding the door or placing a support under it.
10. Loosen the two nuts securing the hinge to the body studs. Repeat the operation for the other rear door hinge. Remove the rear door from the vehicle.
11. Install the tailgate in the reverse order of removal. Before the final tightening of the hinge nuts to the body, close the door and adjust its position so that the gaps in the opening around the entire perimeter are the same. Then carefully open the door and finally tighten the hinge nuts.
