1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or overpass (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Move the parking brake lever to the lower position.
3. We hang up the rear axle (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair") and remove the rear wheels.
4. Key by 13 mm loosen the lock nut while holding the adjusting nut with a wrench of the same size.

5. Hold the front cable end with pliers, a wrench by 13 mm rotate the adjustment nut clockwise to increase the cable tension or counterclockwise to decrease it (see below "Parking brake system - disassembly and assembly"), achieving the required travel of the parking brake drive lever.
6. Turn the rear wheels. They should rotate freely, without jerking.
7. Tighten the lock nut, holding the adjusting nut from turning.
