We remove the flywheel for its replacement, as well as when replacing the rear crankshaft oil seal and disassembling the engine.
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or overpass (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Remove the basket and the driven clutch disc (see "Clutch parts - removal and installation").
3. Screw the clutch housing mounting bolt into the threaded hole in the cylinder block.
4. To keep the flywheel from turning, lean on the bolt with a mounting blade inserted between the teeth of the flywheel ring gear.
5. With a socket wrench by 17 mm we unscrew the six flywheel mounting bolts.

6. Remove the thrust washer and flywheel from the crankshaft.

Installation
The flywheel installed on a new car is balanced during assembly together with the crankshaft. The flywheel can be installed on the crankshaft in two positions. If the flywheel is not removed for replacement, it should be installed in its original position. For this purpose, a mark is made on the flywheel. With the piston positions of the 1st and 4th cylinders in BMT (top dead center) the mark should be located on the flywheel at the top.

1. Install the flywheel and evenly, from diametrically opposite sides, tighten the bolts that secure it to the crankshaft to a torque of 60.1-87.4 N·m.
2. Installation of all removed parts is performed in reverse order.
