Oil pump — replacement (VAZ-2104)

We replace the oil pump if the oil pressure in the engine is insufficient or excessive when idling.

Removal

1. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit or overpass (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the engine oil pan (see "Engine oil pan - removal and installation").

3. With a socket wrench by 13 mm unscrew the two oil pump mounting bolts. The pump mounting bolts are of different lengths.

4. Remove the oil pump and sealing gasket.

Installation

1. Before installing a new pump, replace the sealing gasket.

2. Installation of all removed parts is performed in reverse order.

3. Fill the engine with oil (see "Engine Oil - Checking Level and Replacement").
