Replacing the rear panel (VAZ-2105)

Replace with the rear wings removed. Use a thin chisel to cut the rear panel (Fig. 286) off the fuel tank floor, spare wheel floor, side members, panel reinforcement and remove the remaining metal strips. Straighten and sand the deformed edges.



Install the new panel and gas weld it in the places shown in the figure by arrows. Check the correct installation of the panel by first installing the rear bumper.

Weld the rear panel using contact welding or carbon dioxide arc welding with 10 mm long intermittent welds every 30 mm of length.

Gas welding with spots every 30-40 mm using brass rods is allowed.
