Replacing the rear panel (VAZ-1111)

Replacement must be carried out with the rear bumper, assemblies and parts that interfere with the work removed.

Drill out contact welding points with the mating parts: sidewalls, rear wheel arches and floor panel. Straighten and clean up deformed edges of the body. Install a new rear panel with a rear crossmember on the body, adjust to the mating parts and fasten with pliers. Check the installation of the panel by gaps with the tailgate. Using carbon dioxide welding, fasten the panel in 6-8 points with Sv-08G1S or Sv-08G2S wire with a diameter of 0.8 mm. You can use gas welding with L 63, L 68 or LNKMts solder in the form of rods with a diameter of 2-3 mm.

The rear panel with the crossbar assembly is welded to the mating parts using pre-drilled holes. The diameter of the holes is 5-6 mm. The outer welds are cleaned flush with the base metal and the repaired body sections are painted and given anti-corrosion treatment.

The bumper and removed components and parts are installed in the luggage compartment and outside the vehicle.
