Disassembling the cardan transmission (VAZ-2105)

After thorough washing, apply marks (with paint or core) into the parts to be separated in order to connect them in the same position during assembly and to maintain the shaft balancing unchanged. Then place the front propeller shaft in a vice and remove the needle bearing retaining rings. Press out the bearing housings from the universal joint forks using clamp 67.7823.9522 or a drift with a hammer. Loosen the nut securing the universal joint fork to the front shaft and remove the fork using puller A.40005/1/5. Remove the intermediate support complete with bearing and dust deflector from the front shaft under a press using half rings.

To disassemble the intermediate support, remove the retaining ring, then use the A.40005/2/4/11 puller to press the bearing out of the support. After that, disassemble the rear propeller shaft using the techniques described above.
