The spare wheel is located in a separate compartment (see fig. View of the spare wheel compartment of the VAZ-2104 car) under the cargo platform, to access it you need to remove the mat, unscrew the screw with the thumb nut that secures the wheel to the floor of the compartment, and remove the cover.
The rear seat has a redesigned design. The seat cushion and backrest fold down on hinges to increase the space occupied by the luggage compartment. The cushion in the folded position protects the front seats, the backrest folds down to a horizontal position and serves as a support surface for cargo.

Tailgate (see fig. Tailgate of the VAZ-2104 car) single-leaf, with upper hinges, with fixed glass. In the open position, the door is held by gas-filled telescopic stops 3. The outer handle 16 of the rear door is equipped with a lock 14 with a key for unlocking the door from the outside.
The door trim 1 is secured at the top with steel holders 2, and along the rest of the perimeter – with plastic spring holders.
