Cylinder Head Bolt Tightening Order
The cylinder head is fastened with 11 bolts instead of ten, as on the VAZ-2105 engine. The first ten bolts are tightened in the same way as on the VAZ-2105 engine, and the 11th is tightened last with a torque of 31.36–39.1 N·m (3.2–4.0 kgf·m).
At withdrawal cylinder heads on a car, it is necessary to disconnect the camshaft chain drive in the following order:
1. Turn the crankshaft until the mark on the crankshaft pulley aligns with the long mark on the camshaft drive cover, and the marks on the camshaft sprocket align with the mark on the bearing housing (see subsection 11.1.2).
2. Loosen cap nut 6 (see fig. Removing the chain tensioner and guide) chain tensioner, press the tensioner rod with a mounting spatula and fix it with a cap nut.
3. Remove the camshaft sprocket and bearing housing along with the camshaft.
At installation cylinder heads, it is necessary to attach the camshaft chain drive in the following order:
1. Install the sprocket on the camshaft, assembled with the bearing housing, and rotate the shaft so that the mark on the sprocket is against the mark on the bearing housing.
2. Remove the sprocket and, without changing the position of the shaft, install the bearing housing on the cylinder head and secure by tightening the nuts in the sequence shown in the figure.
3. Put the chain on the camshaft sprocket, fix it on the shaft and check the alignment of the marks on the sprocket and the camshaft bearing housing (see subsection 11.1.2), as well as on the pulley and the cover of the camshaft drive.
4. Put the chain on the sprocket and install it on the camshaft without completely tightening the mounting bolt.
5. Loosen cap nut 6 (see fig. Removing the chain tensioner and guide) chain tensioner, turn the crankshaft two turns and check that the alignment marks match; if the marks match, then tighten the tensioner cap nut, the sprocket mounting bolt and bend the sprocket bolt lock washer, and if the marks do not match, then repeat the installation of the sprocket.
