Fuel tank — inspection and repair (VAZ-2108)

To clean the tank, remove the fuel level sensor, wash the tank with gasoline. Then wash and steam the tank with a stream of hot water to remove any remaining gasoline.

Carefully inspect the tank along the joint line to ensure there are no leaks. If a leak is detected, solder the tank with soft solder. You can only solder a well-washed and steamed tank that does not contain gasoline vapors to prevent them from igniting during soldering.
