Note:
- Set the wheels in the position of driving the car in a straight line.
- The protective cover can be replaced without removing the steering mechanism from the vehicle.
- To facilitate the installation of rubber pads, moisten them with soapy water.
1. From inside the passenger compartment, unscrew the coupling bolt of the steering shaft coupling flange.
2. From inside the engine compartment, unscrew the three fastening nuts and remove the protective cover.
3. Loosen the bolts securing both steering rods to the steering mechanism by bending the ends of the lock plate with a screwdriver.
4. Loosen both bolts and then remove the tie rod bolt.
5. Turn the connecting plate so that you can disconnect the rod from the steering gear.
6. Disconnect the tie rod from the steering mechanism.
7. Wrap the rod mounting bolt into the mechanism so that the rail does not move.
8. Unscrew the other mounting bolt and disconnect the second rod. Close the bolt.
9. Loosen two steering gear nuts on both sides and disconnect the drive gear shaft from the steering shaft.
10. Remove the steering mechanism through the hole for the steering rod in the niche of the right wheel.
11. Replace torn, cracked, or loose cushions and protective covers.
12. To replace the protective cover, bite through the plastic clamps (they are disposable).
13. Install the steering gear in the reverse order of removal. Before installation, make sure that the flat on the steering gear shaft and the pinion bolt hole on the shaft match.
14. After installation, do not forget to lock the rod mounting bolts by bending the ends of the locking plate.
