The trunk lid is equipped with a rear window wiper and a washer nozzle. There are two gas struts installed on the lid. They help open the lid and hold it in the open position. If the lid slams shut under its own weight, the gas struts must be replaced.
Some vehicles are equipped with an electric drive for opening the trunk lid lock.
Helpful advice. It is more convenient to replace the gas struts one by one. If it is necessary to remove two struts at the same time, some object should be installed under the trunk lid to prevent the lid from closing.
Removal
1. Prepare the car for repair work.
2. Using a 13 mm open-end wrench, unscrew the ball pin of the lower and then the upper gas strut mount.

3. Remove the gas strut.
4. Similarly, remove the stop from the other side of the trunk lid.
Warning: The gas in the gas strut housing is under high pressure. To avoid injury, do not disassemble the strut.
Installation
We install the gas struts of the trunk lid and all previously removed parts on the car in the reverse order.
