An assistant will be needed to complete the job.
Removal
1. Disconnect the steering rod ends from the front suspension strut arms (see "Tie Rod Ends - Replacement").
2. Unscrew and remove the tightening bolt of the lower flange of the steering shaft flexible coupling, and use a large slotted screwdriver to loosen the flange (see "Steering column - removal and installation").
3. With a socket wrench or a deep-head socket wrench by 13 mm we unscrew the two nuts of the bracket of the right fastening of the steering gear to the bulkhead of the engine compartment.

4. Remove the steering gear mounting bracket from the studs.

5. Similarly, remove the left steering gear mounting bracket.

6. Move the steering gear forward a little and disengage the drive pinion shaft from the lower flange of the steering shaft coupling.
7. Turning the steering gear with the drive pinion shaft upward, we remove it from the engine compartment through the opening in the left mudguard.

Installation
We install the steering mechanism in the reverse order, while the assistant in the car puts the lower flange of the coupling on the shaft of the drive gear of the steering mechanism, aligning the chamfer with the slot (see "Steering column - removal and installation").
