1. Disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel trim.
3. Remove the two screws securing the horn switch cover to the steering wheel frame…
4. …and remove the lid.
5. Loosen the steering wheel mounting nut until its end is flush with the end of the steering shaft.
6. Pull the steering wheel towards you and remove it from the splines of the steering shaft. If the steering wheel sits on the splines very tightly, knock the steering wheel off the shaft with sharp blows of your hands.
Warning! The steering wheel fits very tightly on the shaft splines, so do not unscrew the wheel mounting nut immediately: if there is a sharp impact, the steering wheel may jump off the splines and cause injury. For ease of installation, mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the shaft.
7. Completely unscrew the steering wheel mounting nut…
8. …and remove the steering wheel.
9. Install the steering wheel in the reverse order of removal, in accordance with the previously made markings. Tighten the wheel mounting nut to a torque of 32–51 N·m (3.2–5.1 kgf·m).
