1. Disconnect the wire from the "–" terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel (see "Removal and installation the steering wheel").
3. Remove the three screws securing the contact ring to the base…
4. …and remove the ring.
5. Remove the turn signal release pin together with the spring from the base of the contact ring…
6. …disconnect the connector with the wire from the base of the contact ring and remove the base.
7. Install the contact ring in the reverse order of removal.
