If the belt is too tight, the generator bearings may fail.
The diagram for checking the tension of the generator drive belt is shown in the figure:
The alternator drive belt should deflect by 10-15 mm with a force of 100 N (10 kgf) applied in the middle between the crankshaft and alternator pulleys. Otherwise, adjust its tension.
