Polishing of paintwork (VAZ-2115)

            0

Helpful advice: Do not store your car under a rubber cover and do not place rubber objects on the painted surfaces of the body - they leave marks on the paintwork (especially light) dark spots that cannot be removed by polishing.

To preserve the appearance of the body and keep it in good condition for a long time, it is necessary to periodically polish the paintwork of the body. Select polishing agents in accordance with the condition of the coating. It is necessary to strictly follow the recommendations for their use.

During the first 2-3 months of car operation, wash the body coating with cold water. To polish a new coating (up to 3 years), use polishing agents for new coatings that do not contain abrasives.

When using a car for 3 to 5 years, use car polishes for weathered surfaces, which contain a small amount of abrasive substances. After 5 years of intensive use, use car polishes for old surfaces.

To prevent the polish from drying out, polish the body with a clean flannel cloth by hand, in small sections.

To eliminate minor defects of the paintwork, you can use polishing pastes PMA-1 or PMA-2. You can polish manually or mechanically with flannel or bean wool circles. Stir the paste before use, and dilute with water when it thickens. After polishing, wipe the surface with clean flannel.

Paint over small chips and scratches that have not damaged the primer layer with a thin brush. If the primer layer is damaged, sand the damaged area with fine-grained sandpaper, removing traces of corrosion. Prime the cleaned area (from a spray gun, aerosol can or brush). When the primer is completely dry, paint over the damaged area with enamel.

If bitumen gets on the car's paintwork, remove it immediately with white spirit or a car bitumen stain remover. Bitumen causes yellow stains, especially noticeable on light-colored paintwork.

At least once every two years it is necessary to treat with "Movil" (or similar means) hidden cavities of the body and apply anti-corrosion mastic to the surface of the wheel arches and the bottom.

We recommend that these works be carried out at a service station.
