To preserve the paintwork for a long time and keep it in good condition, it is necessary to select polishing agents that correspond to the condition of the coating.
During the first 2-3 months of car operation, the body is washed with cold clean water. To polish the new coating (up to three years) use non-abrasive polishing agents for new coatings. When using a car for three to five years, use car polishes for weathered coatings, which contain a small amount of abrasive substances. After five years of intensive use, use car polishes for old coatings.
To avoid the polish drying out, the body is polished in small sections. To eliminate minor defects in the paintwork, polishing pastes VAZ-1, VAZ-2 and polishing compound VAZ-03 are used. Polishing can be done manually or mechanically with flannel or beaver wheels.
Before use, stir the paste, dilute with water when thickened. After polishing, wipe the surface with a clean flannel.
