Flushing of crankcase ventilation system components (VAZ-2115)

When the crankcase ventilation system becomes clogged, the pressure in the engine crankcase increases, which can cause oil to leak through seals and gaskets.

You will need: keys "13", "17", screwdriver.

1. Remove the cylinder head cover (see "Adjusting valve clearances").

2. Unscrew the long 1 and short 2 bolts securing the oil separator from the inside of the cylinder head cover, remove the washers.



3. Remove the oil separator housing.



4. Remove the mesh pack from the cylinder head cover.



5. Thoroughly wash the screens, oil separator housing and cylinder head cover with kerosene.





6. Rotate the meshes in the bag so that they are oriented in the same way and place the bag in the lid so that on one side it rests against the protrusions in the lid, and on the other side…



7. …the hole for the oil separator housing mounting bolt was visible. Install the oil separator housing and screw in its mounting bolts.



8. Check the condition of the cover gasket, replace if necessary.




Install the cover onto the cylinder head.
