Helpful advice. If you are removing the oil pump, replace the front crankshaft oil seal (see «Replacing the crankshaft seals»).
You will need: keys «on 10», «at 13», «at 17», oil filter puller, screwdriver.
1. Disconnect the wire from the terminal «–» battery.
2. Drain engine oil (see «Changing engine oil and oil filter»).
3. Remove the alternator drive belt (see «Replacing and adjusting the tension of the alternator drive belt»).
4. Remove the camshaft drive belt (see «Replacing the camshaft drive belt and adjusting the belt tension»).
Warning! After removing the camshaft drive belt, it is forbidden to turn the camshaft and crankshaft, as the pistons can hit the valves.
5. Using two screwdrivers, remove the pulley from the crankshaft.
6. If the key does not fit tightly in the crankshaft groove, remove it so as not to lose it.
7. Remove the engine oil sump (see «Replacing the gasket of the oil crankcase of the engine»).
8. Turn out two bolts of fastening of an oil receiver to a cover of the radical bearing.
9. Turn out a bolt of fastening of an oil receiver to the oil pump and remove an oil receiver.
10. Turn out six bolts of fastening of the oil pump.
Warning! Flat washers are installed under the oil pump mounting bolts.
11. Move the oil pump with a screwdriver, inserting it between the pump and the main bearing cap..
12.... and remove the pump from the crankshaft.
13. Before installing the pump, rotate the oil pump drive gear for proper installation on the crankshaft: the projections on the drive gear must match..
14.... with flats on the crankshaft.
15. Grease a working edge of an epiploon with engine oil. When installing the pump, carefully fill the working edge of the stuffing box on the crankshaft journal with a wooden stick and screw in the pump mounting bolts.
16. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal. Adjust the tension of the camshaft drive belt (see «Replacing the camshaft drive belt and adjusting the belt tension»).
