It is best to store the car in a warm garage with good ventilation at a temperature of about +5°C and a relative humidity of 50-70%.
If you do not have a garage, put the car in a covered parking lot or under a canopy so that direct sunlight and precipitation do not fall on the body.
Wash the car thoroughly and wipe the body dry.
If there are signs of corrosion on the body, clean them with a sandpaper to the metal or treat with a rust converter.
Tint with car enamel areas with damaged paintwork. If the old primer is damaged, apply a coat of primer to the metal before painting. At low temperatures, apply to damaged areas «Movil» or other preservative material. Apply car preservative or AV-70 car wax to the body.
Inspect the underbody and wheel arches. Apply anti-corrosion mastic to the places where it is broken.
Drain the fluid from the washer reservoirs. Then turn on the washers to drain any remaining fluid from the hoses.
Check the density of the coolant in the cooling system, if necessary, replace the liquid.
Start and warm up the engine (coolant temperature must be at least 50°C). Stop the engine, remove the spark plugs and pour 25-30 g of engine oil into each hole. Then turn the engine crankshaft 10-15 revolutions and screw the candles back. This will protect the engine cylinders from corrosion.
If the car will be stored in an open parking lot or in an unheated garage, remove the battery and radio from the car (radio). Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
Loosen the tension on the alternator drive belt.
Remove the hot air supply hose to the air filter and cover the cold and hot air intake pipes in the filter with oiled rags.
To protect the engine compartment from dust, cover the engine with a tarpaulin or thick cloth.
Cover the exhaust pipe with an oiled rag to protect the exhaust system from moisture.
To protect the fuel tank from corrosion, fill it to the top with gasoline.
Place the vehicle on solid, stable supports so that the wheels are off the ground.
Cover the car with a cover. In order not to damage the paintwork and to ensure ventilation under the cover, place soft pads at least 20 mm thick under the tarpaulin or install a roof rack.
