Location of lamps on the instrument panel: 1 - fuel reserve indicator lamp (A 12-1,2 (W1,2W); 2 - instrument cluster illumination lamps (AMH 12-3-1 (T3W); 3 - indicator lamp for direction indicators (A 12-1.2 (W1.2); 4 - Engine malfunction indicator lamp (A 12-1,2 (W1,2); 5 - control lamp for switching on external lighting (A 12-1,2 (W1,2); 6 - Low oil pressure indicator lamp (A 12-1.2 (W1.2); 7 - Parking brake indicator lamp (A 12-1.2 (W1.2); 8 - high beam indicator lamp (A 12-1.2 (W1.2); 9 - Battery charge indicator lamp (A 12-1.2 (W1.2)
Removal
1. Prepare the vehicle for operations (see "Preparing a car for maintenance and repair").
2. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery (see "Battery - Removal and Installation").
3. Using a slotted screwdriver, remove the handles from the heater control levers.
4. Unscrew the nut securing the trip meter reset handle. Remove the nut with the washer and push the handle into the space behind the panel.
5. Remove the rear luggage compartment door windshield wiper and washer switch (see "Key switches - replacement").
6. Using a thin slotted screwdriver, pry up and remove the screw cap for the shield, located on the right edge of the ventilation and heating control lever block.
7. Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw.
8. Remove the shield from the panel.
9. Unscrew the knurled union nut of the speedometer drive cable and disconnect the cable.
10. Remove the vacuum supply hose from the fuel economy meter fitting.
11. Disconnect the three colored connector blocks from the instrument cluster.
12. Remove the instrument panel.
Replacing the instrument cluster illumination lamp
1. Turn the lamp holder 90° until its protrusion matches the slot in the board and remove the holder with the lamp.
2. Press and turn 90° to remove the lamp.
Replacing the indicator lamps
1. Turn the lamp holder 90° until its protrusion matches the slot in the board and remove the holder with the lamp.
2. Replace the lamp together with the socket.
Installation
Installation of all removed parts is carried out in reverse order.
