Removal
1. Set the parking brake drive lever to the extreme lower position, disconnect the ends of the cables from the brake shoe drive levers (see subsection 8.7.1)
2. After loosening the lock nut 26 (see Fig. Brake system diagram) and adjusting nut 27, remove tension spring 11 (see Fig. Parking brake drive parts), then completely unscrew the lock nut and nut.
3. Disconnect the cable brackets 15 from the body floor; remove the brackets and rear cable 14 (see Fig. Parking brake drive parts).
4. Remove roller 8 with sleeve 7 (see Fig. Parking brake drive parts).
5. Remove the shifter boot, then the shifter assembly and front cable.
6. After removing the cotter pin and thrust washer, disconnect the front cable from the handbrake drive lever.
Installation
1. Install the parking brake in the reverse order of removal, and then adjust it (see subsection 8.2.4).
2. When installing, lubricate the rear cable guide, parking brake lever axle, roller bushing and front cable tip with LITOL-24 or LSC-15 consistent grease.
