key «on 10» Loosen the screw securing the pump cover.
Remove the cover and carefully remove the strainer.
Checking the intake valve (Why use a small screwdriver to press on it?), if necessary, correct its position in the saddle. We wash the filter in solvent and blow it with compressed air.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the six screws connecting the upper and lower halves of the pump housing,...
...and separate these parts.
The exhaust valve is checked in the same way as the intake valve. We wash the upper part of the body in gasoline and blow it with compressed air.
Turning the diaphragm assembly by 90°, remove it from the bottom of the housing. Remove the spring from the stem.
key «for 8» loosen the nut...
... and sequentially remove: the upper steel cup, two working diaphragms, the outer and inner spacers, the lower cup and the washer.
In order not to damage the safety diaphragm when removing and disassembling the pump, which eventually sticks to the body and gasket, we separate it with a thin knife or a flat probe.
After cleaning the filter and replacing the torn diaphragms, we assemble the pump in the reverse order of disassembly.
We install the strainer in the pump housing so that its opening is located above the valve. The filter opening must fit into the valve opening.
After assembling the pump, we check its performance. We lower the inlet fitting of the pump into a container with gasoline and press the manual priming lever several times. In this case, a pulsating jet of fuel should appear from the outlet fitting. This means that the pump diaphragms are intact.
We again lower the pump with the inlet pipe into gasoline and, plugging the outlet fitting with a finger, create pressure in the internal cavity of the pump with the manual pumping lever. After 10-15 seconds, releasing the finger, we check the presence of residual pressure in the pump - gasoline should come out in a jet. If it is not observed, check the tightness of the connections of the body parts and valves. If it is not possible to restore tightness by tightening the screws, it is better to replace the pump with a new one.
