Ignition Switch — Removal and Installation (VAZ-2108)

To remove the ignition switch, disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery, remove the steering gear shaft cover and disconnect the ignition switch wiring harness from the instrument panel wiring harness.

Insert the key into the ignition switch and turn it to the "O" position, unscrew the bolts securing the switch bracket, remove it, and then the ignition switch.

The ignition switch is installed in the reverse order.

For disassembling the ignition switch KZ81 (produced by Hungary) disconnect the wires from the plug, turn the key to the "O" position (off) and unscrew the lock mounting screw. Then, having sunk the locking pin, remove the lock with the contact part from the housing (there is a hole on the lock body into which the lock's locking pin fits). Unscrew the two mounting screws, disconnect the contact part of the switch from the lock and remove the casing from the contact part.

The ignition switch is assembled in reverse order.

The ignition switch 2108-3704005 differs in design from the KZ81. To disassemble it, simply unscrew one screw, after which the lining and contact part are disconnected from the switch housing.
