Ignition switch
The key in the ignition switch occupies the following positions:
- 0 - everything is off. The key is removed, the anti-theft device is not included.
- 1 - the ignition is on. The key is not removed. In this position of the key, the following circuits can be switched on with the appropriate switches and switches: side light, dipped or main beam headlights with an alarm indicator lamp, license plate light, engine compartment and trunk lights, instrument cluster lighting, glove box lighting, windshield wiper, electric fan heater, cigarette lighter socket lighting and reversing lamp. In addition, in this key position, the circuits of the ignition, voltage regulator, generator excitation winding, cooling system fluid temperature indicator, fuel level indicator with reserve indicator lamp, battery charge indicator lamp, engine oil pressure indicator lamp, parking brake indicator lamp are switched on and signaling of an insufficient level of brake fluid in the tank, direction indicators with a warning lamp.
- 2 - the starter is on. Not a fixed key position. The key is not removed.
- 3 - all off (parking). With the key removed, the anti-theft device is activated. To turn off the anti-theft device, insert the key into the ignition switch and, while slightly turning the steering wheel to the right and left to reduce friction as the ignition switch lock rod moves out of the steering shaft groove, turn the key to position «0».
The circuits of the interior lighting, brake light, horn, cigarette lighter and portable lamp socket are always energized, regardless of the position of the key in the ignition switch.
