The LADA 21123 "coupe" and LADA 21128 "coupe" cars are four-seater "hatchback" ("coupe"), two-volume three-door passenger car with an increased level of comfort and belong to the family of front-wheel drive small cars of the second group. Large front doors distinguish this model from the LADA-2112 car, which increases the level of consumer properties (ease of entry and exit, the angle of the central pillar has been changed). The standard equipment includes electric window switches, individual and general lighting on the ceiling trim, electric locks, and power steering (for some configurations) and air conditioning (for some configurations).

LADA 21123 coupe and LADA 21128 coupe cars are equipped with two engine modifications - 1.6 l and 1.8 l, 16-valve, and 185/65R14 tires can be installed.

The cars have two levels of equipment: "Norm" and "Lux".

The ignition key combines the following functions:
  • door lock and trunk lid key (tailgate);
  • ignition key.

Doors

To open the doors from the outside, pull handle 1 towards you (Fig. 21). When you open the doors, the interior lighting turns on automatically.

The front doors have a lock that can be locked from the outside by turning the lock cylinder with key 2 (Fig. 21). From the inside, the door is locked by pressing button 1 (Fig. 22), and opened with handle 2 if button 1 is raised. If the lock is locked, handles 1 (Fig. 21) and 2 (Fig. 22) will have an idle stroke. When parked, you can use an additional lock for the front door locks, for which, after locking the locks, remove the key from the door lock in a horizontal position. In this case, it is impossible to raise button 2 and open the door from the inside; locking and unlocking the locks of all doors can be done with the key or the button of the left front door.

It is not recommended to lock the door locks while the vehicle is moving, in order to be able to open the doors from the outside if necessary.

The front door has a drop-down window 5, which is lowered and raised by an electric drive controlled by a corresponding switch on the floor tunnel lining. Electric window lifters are used to raise and lower the front door windows.

By pressing the concave or convex part of the electric window lift switch located in the switch block, you can lower or raise the glass to the desired value. After you stop pressing, the button is automatically set to the middle position and the glass stops in any position you choose. An additional button in the switch block controls the electric window lift of the right front door.
Electric windows operate in the following cases:
  • with ignition on;
  • within 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off, if none of the vehicle doors are opened.

Warning! When closing windows with electric windows, fingers and other body parts may become pinched, which may result in serious injury. Therefore, be careful when using electric windows, especially if there are children in the car. Make sure that nothing will get pinched when the window is raised. If anything gets pinched, immediately stop raising the window and turn it on to lower it.

The driver of the vehicle is responsible for the improper use of electric windows. He must warn passengers about the rules of use and the dangers of improper use of electric windows.

Do not allow children to operate power window switches!

When leaving the car, be sure to remove the key from the ignition switch to disable the electric windows and avoid accidental injury to passengers remaining in the car. Do not stick your hands or other body parts out of the open windows of the car, and make sure that children do not do this.

The door has an armrest with a handle 4, a pocket 3 for small items.

Additional interior equipment

On the roof trim in its middle part, a lamp 1 (Fig. 23) for interior lighting and a temperature sensor 2 for interior air are installed. The lamps in the lamp are switched on and off by pressing the ends of the lamp keys.

The tailgate 3 of the LADA 21123 and LADA 21128 cars with a coupe body (Fig. 24) is opened from the outside by turning key 1 in the lock clockwise or from the passenger compartment by pressing button 33 (fig. 27) on the instrument panel. In the open position, the door is held by telescopic stops 2. Ceiling light 4 with a built-in switch allows you to illuminate the luggage compartment when the outside lighting is on.

To adjust the front seats in the longitudinal direction, pull the locking lever 1 (Fig. 25) upwards. After setting the seat in a comfortable position, release the lever and move it slightly forward and backward until it is securely fixed. The seat back tilt is adjusted by turning the handle 2.
