Opening the hood (VAZ-2110)

To open the hood, pull handle 1 (Fig. 14) towards you, then lift hood 1 (Fig. 15), put your hand between the hood and the front panel, lift the tab of the safety hook 2 and lift the hood. In the open position, the hood is held by telescopic stops 3. Close the hood by "slamming" it, releasing it from a height of 20-30 centimeters. When closing the hood, make sure that the lock has worked - a characteristic click should be heard at the moment of locking. Before closing the hood, check the safety hook - it should turn without jamming and clearly return to its original position.
