Removal
1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Turn off the outside lighting.
Note: When removing the left light, remove the luggage compartment light (see "Trunk light - removal and installation, lamp replacement").
3. Unscrew the six screws securing the upper edge of the trunk side trim (one screw is screwed into the plastic lining of the rear panel) and move the upper part of the luggage compartment trim.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the lamp terminals.
5. Hold the lantern from the outside with a socket wrench by 8 mm we unscrew the three nuts that secure it.
6. Remove the outer light.
Installation
We install the lantern in the reverse order.
