Advice: Malfunctions of the fuel level indicator sensor are most often associated with wear of the contact part of its rheostat. This can be verified by measuring its electrical resistance with an ohmmeter while smoothly moving the lever with the float from one extreme position to another. A faulty sensor should be replaced.
Removal
1. Remove the fuel module (see "Fuel module engine 2111 (1.5i) - removal and installation").
2. Press the retainer (1) of the wiring block (3) and disconnect the block from the terminals (2) on the fuel module cover.

3. Release the wire connector retainer (1) and disconnect the connector from the fuel pump (2). Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two bolts (3) securing the fuel level indicator sensor.

4. Remove the pointer.
Installation
We install the new fuel level indicator sensor in the reverse order.
