Disassembly and assembly of the heater (VAZ-1111)

Remove the air duct of the deflector pipes from the heater, unscrew the screws securing the clamps 2, 5, 7 (see figure 178) and disconnect the rods from the control levers. Remove the four spring clips 9 (see figure 177) and disconnect the fan casing 6 from the radiator casing 4, remove the radiator 12 with the gasket 3. Unscrew the two nuts securing the roof 1 of the air intake and remove the cover with the gasket 2.

Remove tap 14 with the supply pipe and the outlet pipe 16, having first unscrewed the fastening nuts.

Remove guide casing 5, disconnect electrical wires of resistor and electric fan motor, remove spring clamps 20 and take out electric fan and cushions 19. Unscrew impeller fastening nut 17 of fan and remove it from electric motor shaft. Unscrew two fastening nuts of air distribution cover 8 and remove cover.

If necessary, remove the electric motor resistor.

The heater assembly is performed in the reverse order. Before assembly, inspect the heater casings and seals, and replace them with new ones if necessary. When assembling, pay attention to the correct installation of the sealing gaskets and the reliability of tightening the hose clamps.
