The circuit diagram for connecting the heater fan electric motor is the same for VAZ-2105 and VAZ-2104 vehicles. It is shown in Fig. 250. Electric motor 5 is switched on by three-position key switch 3. In the middle position of the key switch, power is supplied to the electric motor through additional resistor 4 and the electric motor rotates at a reduced frequency of 2200 min⁻¹. When the key is fully pressed, full supply voltage is supplied to the electric motor and it rotates at maximum frequency. Resistor 4 is secured with two spring washers in the heater fan casing. The resistance value of the resistor is 1.5 ohms at 20°C.
Replace the faulty electric motor. The only possible repair is to clean the collector. To disassemble the electric motor, unscrew the cover mounting screws and remove it. Then remove the lock washer from the armature shaft and remove the armature from the housing. Checking the technical condition of the electric motor and its malfunctions is similar to that described above for the windshield wiper motor. Assemble the electric motor in the reverse order.
