- place the car on a level surface and lock the rear wheels with the parking brake;
- remove the spare wheel, jack and tool bag from the trunk. In a station wagon, the spare wheel, tool bag and jack are located in a compartment under the trunk floor. To access them, fold back mat 1 (Fig. 40), unscrew screw 2 and remove cover 3;
- loosen the mounting bolts of the wheel being replaced by one turn using a combination wrench;
- insert the jack's lifting support arm into the bracket socket located under the floor closer to the wheel being replaced (Fig. 41). After checking the strength of the supporting ground, (when lifting a car, the jack should not go deeper), rotate the jack handle until the wheel is raised off the ground;
- unscrew the wheel mounting bolts, lower it and move the decorative cap from the removed wheel to the one being installed;
- install the spare wheel, tighten the mounting bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern;
- lower the vehicle, remove the jack, tighten the bolts and check the tire pressure.
After finishing the work, put the bag with the tool, the jack and the wheel in the trunk, for which:
- place the jack support arm 4 (Fig. 42) along the rail and rest it against the base 5 by turning the handle;
- place the jack on brackets 3 and insert handle 1 into socket 2;
- check that the tool is correctly placed in the bag 6 and secure it with the elastic strap 7;
- install the wheel in the trunk niche and secure the wheel with the jack using elastic belt 8, placing the belt hook on the edge of the central hole of the wheel.
