In between maintenance services provided by the service book, to ensure reliable engine operation, drain the sediment from the fuel filter and then bleed the fuel system.
To do this, put the hose on the nipple 1 (Fig. 50) of the plug 2 and place the container under the fuel filter. Then loosen the plug 2 and let the sediment drain until clean fuel flows. Then tighten the plug, remove the hose and bleed the fuel system.
Bleeding the fuel system is done to fill it with fuel to compensate for the drained sediment and remove air that could get in when draining the sediment. To do this, remove the plug from the nozzle of the fourth cylinder and put a hose on it. Then unscrew the rod 3 of the pump and periodically press it to pump the system until air bubbles stop coming out. After removing the air, screw the rod, remove the hose and put the plug on the nozzle.
In the variant version, a fuel filter is installed with a modified design of the bleed pump, in which air is removed by pressing on the rod without unscrewing it.
