Remove the rear wheels and brake drums. Disconnect the brake hose from the pipeline attached to the axle, plugging the holes in the hose and pipeline. Unscrew the bolts securing the cable sheath tips to the brake shields, disconnect the cable ends from the manual brake shoe actuator levers and remove them from the shields.
Disconnect the pressure regulator rod from the axle beam and the cardan shaft from the gearbox. Place stands under the rear axle and disconnect the suspension hoses and shock absorbers from the axle beam. Remove the rear axle.
Install the rear axle in the reverse order. Tighten the rod mounting nuts in accordance with the instructions in the "Rear Suspension" section. After installation, bleed the brake system, adjust the service and parking brakes in accordance with the "Brakes" section, and fill the TAD-17 oil and the rear axle gearbox.
