Parking brake actuator
1 - front cable; 2 - rear cable guide; 3 - retracting spring of the front cable; 4 - locknut; 5 - adjusting nut; 6 - spacer sleeve
If the parking brake does not hold the vehicle on a slope of up to 30% or is activated when the lever is moved more than 4-5 teeth of the ratchet, adjust it in the following order.
1. Move the lever to the lowest position.
2. Loosen the locknut 4 of the tensioner and, turning the adjusting nut 5, tighten the cable so that the lever stroke along the sector is 4–5 teeth under a force of 392 N (40 kgf).
Attention! If the cables are replaced with new ones, then brake two or three times by applying a force of approximately 392 N to the parking brake lever (40 kgf). In this case, the cables will be pulled out.
3. After several brakings, make sure that the stroke of the lever has not changed, and the car is braked during this stroke.
