Clutch release hydraulic fluid reservoir

Every 10,000 km check the fluid level in the tank (Fig. 41) and, if necessary, top it up to the lower edge of the filler neck. You should top up with "Rosa" or "Tom" brake fluid.

After 5 years of operation, it is recommended to replace the brake fluid with new one.

Adjusting the clutch release drive

Every 20,000 km, and on a new car after the first 2,000–3,000 km and 10,000 km, check and, if necessary, adjust the clutch release drive.

To do this:
  • using limiter 4 (Fig. 42) of clutch pedal travel, ensure a gap of 0.1-0.5 mm between pusher 3 and piston 2, which corresponds to pedal movement of 0.4-2 mm;
  • check the free travel of pusher 6 of working cylinder 10, the value of which should be 4-5 mm. The free travel is adjusted with nut 8 with lock nut 9 loosened. After adjustment, tighten lock nut 9.

Fig. 42. Adjusting the clutch release drive:

1 - clutch master cylinder; 2 - piston; 3 - pusher; 4 - limiter; 5 - clutch pedal; 6 - working cylinder pusher; 7 - clutch release fork; 8 - nut; 9 - lock nut; 10 - working cylinder.

After performing the above adjustments, the free travel of the clutch pedal before the clutch begins to disengage should be 25–35 mm.

Also check the free travel of the clutch pedal after bleeding the hydraulic drive system to remove air from it. The presence of air in the system is indicated by the "softness" of the pedal and incomplete disengagement of the clutch ("clutch drags").

Bleed the system through the nipple of the working cylinder 10 in the same way as the brake system.

Gearbox and rear axle

After the run first 2000-3000 km, and also through every 60,000 km or 5 years (whichever comes first) change the oil in the gearbox and rear axle. Do this immediately after driving, while the oil is warm. Drain the used oil through the holes closed with plugs 2 (fig. 43, 44). Pour fresh oil through the inspection holes, closed with plugs 1, to the level of the lower edges of these holes.

Every 10,000 km check the oil level, which should reach the lower edges of the inspection holes. Check before the next trip to be sure that all the oil has drained from the walls of the crankcase and gears.

Front propeller shaft flange

Every 30,000 km lubricate the splined joint of flange 1 (Fig. 45) of the front propeller shaft from the side of the elastic coupling 2 through the hole closed by plug 3 with FIOL-1 consistent grease. Before lubrication, thoroughly clean the plug from dirt.
