Generator drive belt
Every 10,000 km mileage, and on a new car after the first 2000-3000 km, check the belt tension. Normal deflection "A" (Fig. 37) should be within 10-15 mm at a force of 100 N (10 kgf).
To increase belt tension:
- loosen nut 1, which secures generator 3 to the tension bar;
- loosen the nut 2 of the generator hinge pin;
- move generator 3 away from the engine and tighten the mounting nuts.

Avoid excessive belt tension to avoid increasing the loads acting on the bearings of generator 3 and water pump 5.
