Features of the design of cars VAZ-21081, -21083, -2109, -21093 (VAZ-2108)

The basic model of the VAZ-2108 has two main modifications: VAZ-21081 and -21083. Both modifications differ from the basic model in engine displacement. The VAZ-21081 has an engine displacement of 1.1 liters, while the VAZ-21083 has a displacement of 1.5 liters. In addition, the VAZ-21083-02 model is equipped with a microprocessor engine control system.

The second basic model of the front-wheel drive family of cars is the VAZ-2109. This is a five-seater comfortable car, designed for use on any roads, except for dirt roads with deep ruts. The VAZ-2109 car has an engine with a working volume of 1.3 liters, and its modification VAZ-21093 - 1.5 liters.

Modifications of VAZ-2108 and -2109 cars have differences in the design of units and their repair.

The technical characteristics of the cars are given in Table 32. The overall dimensions of the cars are the same as those of the VAZ-2108 cars.
