Cylinder block
The engine cylinder diameter by class is as follows (in mm):
- A - 82.00-82.01
- B — 82.01—82.02
- C - 82.02-82.03
- D — 82,03—82,04
- E — 82.04—82.05
Just like with 2108 engines, cylinder blocks must be bored and honed for repair pistons during repair (increased by 0.4 and 0.8 mm) taking into account the provision of the calculated clearance between the piston and the cylinder of 0.025-0.045 mm.
Connecting rod and piston group
The diameter of pistons of different classes, measured in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the pin at a distance of 51.5 mm from the piston bottom (in mm):
- A - 81.965-81.975
- B - 81,975-81,985
- C - 81,985-81,995
- D — 81,995—82,005
- E — 82.005—82.015
When pressing the piston pin into the piston and connecting rod, instead of the A.60325 device, it is necessary to use a similar device designed for pistons with a diameter of 82 mm.
Cylinder head
The cylinder head of the 21083 engines differs from the 2108 by increased diameters of the intake valves - 37 mm instead of 35 mm. Accordingly, the diameters of the intake valve seats and the diameters of the intake valves of the cylinder head are increased. The methods for checking, repairing and adjusting the cylinder head and valve mechanism of the 21083 engine do not have any special features compared to the 2108 engine.
Cylinder head gasket - with increased diameters of holes for cylinders.
Power supply system
The cold air intake is the same as on the VAZ-2109 (see figure 189).
Figure 189. Air filter and thermostat VAZ-21083 and -2109: 1 - thermal air intake; 2 - cold air intake; 3 - air duct; 4 - thermostat; 5 - lid; 6 - lid sealing gasket; Z - filter element; 8 - body; 9 - filter mounting plate; 10 - filter sealing gasket
The intake manifold has larger channel diameters, and the gas pipeline layout has larger diameters of the holes for the intake manifolds.
Carburetor. Type 21083-1107010 with other calibration data is installed (see table 33). Its design is the same as that of the 2108-1107010 carburetor.
