Checking the front wheel drive and gear shift linkage (VAZ-21099)

Check frequency: Every 15,000 km.

Attention! Be sure to replace torn, cracked and elastic protective covers, otherwise dirt, dust and water will quickly put the hinges out of order.

1. Inspect the shift linkage boot.



2. Inspect the protective covers of the internal...



3....and outer constant velocity joints (CV joints). To fully inspect the covers, turn the drive shafts by the wheels. The gear shift lever should be in neutral.
