Brake pedal adjustment
1. We prepare the car for work (see points 1 and 2 "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").
2. Install a ruler or tape measure near the brake pedal. Pressing the brake pedal with your hand, lower it down until you feel an increase in resistance to the movement of the brake pedal. To improve the measurement accuracy, the adjustment is repeated several times.
If the amount of free play of the brake pedal does not correspond to the required one, adjust its position.
3. Remove the wire connectors from the terminals of the brake signal switch.
4. Using a 19 mm spanner, loosen the switch locknut.
The brake light switch is also the stop of the brake pedal in its upper position.
5. Turning the switch, lower the brake pedal, reducing its free play, turning the switch, raise the brake pedal, increasing its free play.
6. After adjusting the brake pedal, fix the switch in the desired position with a lock nut.
7. By pressing the brake pedal several times, we check the operation of the brake signals.
