Generator — removal and installation (VAZ-2112)

Removal

1. Disconnect the wire ends from the generator (see "Voltage Regulator and Capacitor - Checking and Replacing").

2. Remove the generator drive belt (see "Generator Drive Belt - Replacement").

3. With a spanner by 10 mm we unscrew the adjusting bolt and remove it from the upper generator bracket. We remove the tension bar.

4. Unscrew the nut of the generator lower mounting bolt (see "Generator Drive Belt - Replacement") and remove the spacer sleeve from the bolt. Holding the generator, remove the bolt and take the generator out of the engine compartment of the car.

Installation

We install the generator in the reverse order.

After installing the generator, adjust the tension of the generator drive belt (see "Generator Drive Belt - Checking Condition and Adjusting Tension").
